Outgoing Principal Message
Well this was not the way I had expected to say goodbye. I want to say thank you for giving me a chance to be your principal at Ardmore School. I am so happy that I got to end my career as part of the Wolf Pack. My time here has rejuvenated me, rekindled my excitement for teaching, improved my health and I can look back at my career with a smile on my face. You gave me the chance to share my love of small schools and hopefully I was able to make a difference at Ardmore. I really only got to know you for 5 years but it feels like I have known you for all my life. I know once I leave that some of our paths may not cross again, but I will always have great memories of all of you and my time here. I tell my friends I now have 2 homes and Ardmore is one of them. Things that I will always remember is the way you all made me feel. You all welcomed me with open arms and adopted me as a Wolf Pack member from the first day I arrived. I will always remember how active the School Council and Parent Advisory was and still is and how you look after the students and staff! I will remember the struggles we had with enrolment, bussing and getting the school back in the hearts of the community and I am so proud of the gains we have made. I am also proud of the team we built here at Ardmore and although the team will look very different next year, I hope all of you will keep that WOLF pride and continue building an even better team. I have full confidence that you will. I will always remember the Winter Carnival with all the activities and horse rides. The water fights with the students and the Fire Department. The toboggan hill, all the special events like the Christmas Concerts and Remembrance Day Services. I have many highlights in my career which include meeting a beautiful elementary teacher, eventually convincing her to marry me, being able to teach my 2 girls, work with both my parents and even worked one day with both my 2 sisters! Working at and ending my career Ardmore School has also been a huge highlight not only in my career, but also in my personal life. It has been a pleasure being a part of your lives! Wishing you all the best!

Incoming Principal Message
Hello Ardmore School,
My name is Corey Baker and I have the privilege of being the principal of Ardmore School for this upcoming school year. 2019-2020 was a year like no other and I pray that we never have another year like the last one. That said, I would like to share how excited I am to be joining the Ardmore Wolves. I have heard so many great things from staff and past administrators and I am excited to get to know all of the students and families that make Ardmore home and to get the year rolling.
I have had the opportunity to work in education for 25 years, 12 of which have been in administration. I started teaching in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and was there for 6 years, during that time I had the opportunity to learn the craft of teaching in the area of Math and Science. My wife and I would start our family in Prince Albert and when my two daughters reached the age of 4 and 1 we moved to Bonnyville where we both had the opportunity to teach at BCHS, where I would eventually enter administration as the Assistant Principal and then Principal of BCHS.
Both my girls graduated from BCHS, and being able to give my daughters their diploma was very special, I am truly blessed. My time at BCHS was great and every day we as a staff worked to make our school the place where memories are made. Coming out of COVID, I feel we will need to ensure that our students once again feel safe, cared for, and excited to come back to school. We are all missing that “connection” and our first priority will be getting back to some sense of normal, in the safest way possible. We want to start creating those great school memories for our students once again.
To the families of Ardmore, I want you to know that everyone has a role to play in educating our children. From parents, support staff, teachers, administration, and most importantly the students, we are all partners in education - creating pathways to success and linking learning to life in all that we do! I am grateful to be able to be a part of the Ardmore family and can’t wait to continue the journey. At Ardmore we don't want students simply to attend school -- we want them to BELONG and for them to know there is no greater place to build memories and lasting friendships than Ardmore School!
Best wishes to each of you and have a great Summer!
Mr. Corey Baker
